Sommelier Notes: The name of this domaine is in the Occitan language and it means “Valley of Light”. The 17 hectares of vineyards of this estate sit at 350 meters altitude in a tiny isolated valle in the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains where the days are sunny and warm and the evening air is cool. This gives natural acidity or “freshness” to the wine meaning it keeps your palate alive. This appellation, recognizing the special terroir, allows both “Continental” grape varieties like Merlot and also Mediterranean grape varieties such as Grenache Noir and Syrah. This blend of Merlot, Syrah, Grenache and Malbec is aged half in stainless steel tanks and half in French oak. The blend has strong aromas of forest fruits: wild strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. The mild oak creates soft tannins and brings together a beautiful, easy drinking cuvée with great flavor.
