This beautiful small domaine is situated in the hillsides not far from Montpellier, this wine growing region is called Montpeyroux. Only 10 ha. (25 acres) planted with vines, spread around 7 parcels. Each parcel with varying soil and orientation will give a different result in fruit. This gives a broad range of blending material for the very fine winemaker! Pascale Rivière is in charge here and she’s part of the group of female winemakers called the ‘Vinifilles’ . http://www.vinifilles.fr/. The name l’Égrisée means “diamond dust” and comes from the diamond powder used by jewellers to polish their diamonds! What a great name to describe the wine. This fantastic white is a complex blend of local white varietals and the Carignan Blanc here is quite rare! Only 100 ha.(250 acres) exist world wide. The result in Pascale’s hands is a crisp and clear wine with lots of rich fruit tones (white fruits, lemon, lime) and a clean finish. Perfect on it’s own but with food think of seafood, chicken, salads.
