A study in lush, floral debauchery, this organic Viognier tantalizes with a nose of citrus, lychee and lemon blossom and a fluid, lively mouth.  In the hands of the owner and oenologue Stéphane Yerle the viognier expresses masterfully. The wine is well balanced with just a hint of acidity to keep the palate alive and interested.

This dazzling crowd pleaser enhances cooked shellfish, steamed fish fillets and goat’s milk cheeses.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
When Stéphane and his wife Cécile fell in love with the Languedoc they saved their vines from being plowed up. The terroir includes limestone enriched with ancient oyster fossils. All farming is done organically with the minimal intervention in the field.
Production Notes
Fermentation and aging take place in stainless steel vats.
Winemaker Notes
Stéphane and his wife Cécile met when they were studying agricultural engineering. Their fates became further entwined when they created Domaine Vila Voltaire after purchasing the home of a winegrower and saving the vineyard of old, low-yielding vines that was slated for destruction. Their first vines were century-old Carignan, Syrah and Grenache in the AOC Saint Chinian. Stéphane is a well regarded oenologue traveling throughout Europe to advise winemakers and now he has his own magnificent cuveés!
Food Pairing Notes
This dazzling wine enhances cooked shellfish, steamed fish fillets and goat’s milk cheeses.
