Sommelier Notes: The unique Malepère appellation sits in the foothills of the Pyrenees, so it is one of the coolest winegrowing areas in the whole of the Languedoc-Roussillon. The “cool weather” grapes thrive here, at the same time there is also enough South of France sun for the grapes to fully ripen and develop their best qualities. This is special terroir, which is why the famous Kohler family of designer bathroom hardware bought this fine domaine. In this special terroir the vines of Viognier, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc are spectacular. The winemaker is Jem Harris, a transplant from Australia, who is a very fine winemaker. Old World terroir with a New World winemaker. The exciting combination produces delicate perfumes of apricot, mango and white blossoms along with a full body, great mouthfeel and a clean crisp finish. Matured in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels. Fabulous!
