This classic Château was born in 1632 in the wine area around Montpellier called “Grès de Montpellier”. They offer generous wines with great finesse. Another female winemaker here; Diane Losfelt is the technical director and for more than 30 years in charge with the vinification. You can find Diane many times in the vineyard because, as she says ‘Good wine is made in the vineyard, not in the cellar’.
Not everybody is convinced that Sauvignon Blanc and oak go well together. Try this Terres blanc and then make up your own mind! This wine got a gentle ‘upbringing’ as we call it, in French oak barrels. The gentle use of oak, just for a few months, gives an extra dimension to this wine. Besides the fruity and floral notes you can find a hint of almonds and honey in the nose and taste. The fruit is more tropical like pineapple. What a great wine for the dinner table: grilled fish, veal and pork and this wine feels so much at home! Serve not too cold at 12-14 C (55-60 F) degrees.
