Sommelier Notes: On this special terroir, the magical Mediterranean climate and a rich diversity of soils combine to endow our cuvées with a subtly poised blending of robustness and delicacy, developing aromas redolent of ripe fruit, flowers and oriental spices. Bel Canto means ‘where it is nice to live’. For more than 20 years, the domaine has been treated organically. Herbs are deeply buried via mechanical work. The terroir keeps then all its natural richness. To improve the health of the calcareous clay soils, it is boosted with a special “homemade” compost (manure, straw and decomposed marc) every three years. To take benefits from the night cooling, harvesting is achieved at 4 am. After 20 to 24 months aging in oak barrels, the wine is carefully blended, it is dense and complex, spicy, licorice nose with cassis and graphite, smooth tannins and structure,. Wow, what a great wine this is!
