All of the wines we carry at Princess and Bear have small case productions and as each vintage varies from year to year, we want to offer tasting notes and technical information on past vintages we've carried for reference.

These wines are made by the most passionate winemakers and have a finesse and complexity that will keep you coming back for more. Many of the winemakers are contrarian and make wines in their own passionate way regardless of tradition or requirements to be an AOC wine.
Our many organic selections are presented below with the European Union organic leaf designation. Organic wines in the EU can use small amounts of organic sulphur, which helps make the wines remain stable over time.

IGP Pays de Caux
85% Syrah, 15% Cabernet Franc
This organic, medium-bodied red boasts sultry aromas of black fruit, smoky spices and herbs that enhance an opulent palate of complex fruitiness, Asian spices and Sichuan pepper. Syrah blended with Cabernet Franc imparts a beautiful, clear ruby color.

AOP Pic Saint Loup
35% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 30% Mourvèdre
This beautifully crafted, flirty rosé from the great Pic Saint Loup appellation shines with a lovely salmon color. Tempting raspberry and strawberry aromas are enhanced by a pleasantly weighted palate and a crisp finish. For year round enjoyment.
AOP Faugères
95% Syrah, 5% Grenache Noir
This “big wine” showcases Syrah at its best, grown on schiste vineyards. The nose is fragrant with red and black fruit and, when young, a hint of vanilla. The generous mouthfeel and round, luscious tannins resolve into a silky, lingering finish. Le Fou du Rec is a product of sustainable agriculture and has long aging potential.

Vin de France
50% Carignan, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon
Very intense and pure red, slightly purplish, aromas of very ripe black fruits between blueberry and blackberry mixed with smoky notes, bay leaf, thyme and violet. Endowed with well-coated tannins and a slight firmness, this wine combines subtlety, depth and concentration.

AOP Corbières
60% Syrah, 40% Grenache
This elegant, organic cuvée shimmers in the glass with ruby and indigo light. Alluring aromas of wild berries are enhanced by hints of tobacco, cocoa, and truffle. A rich, complex palate makes this an “iconic” wine for your most cherished celebrations.
AOP Malepère
50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc, 10% Malbec
Raise a glass of dazzling garnets with this Merlot-dominant blend. Entrancing aromas of cherry, dark fruit, and sweet spices are touched with roasted oak. The fruit blooms in a very ripe mouth and nuances of macerated fruit integrate the medium tannins. With a beautiful classicism, this cuvée will evolve with grace.

AOP Corbières
34% Grenache Blanc, 32% Vermentino, 30% Carignan Blanc, 4% Macabeu
A blend of Vermentino, Grenache Blanc, Carignan Blanc and Macabeu, this organic white has a complex, expressive nose of grapefruit, pear, and peach. The pale yellow hue belies this cuvée’s liveliness in the mouth. Savor the notes of “melted oak” unfolding into an inviting, mineral finish.

IGP Côtes Catalanes
100% Macabeu
This organic Macabeu varietal expresses a complex floral nose with hints of white stone fruits. The palate is crisp and balanced. This family-run domaine was founded in the early days of the Languedoc-Roussillon’s wine making renaissance. The vineyards lie in a small valley where every one of the vineyard owners farms organically, so this wine begins with the purest fruit anywhere.

IGP Côtes Catalanes
35% Muscat, 35% Macabeu, 15% Viognier, 15% Grenache
Ripe yellow peach, vanilla, acacia, and honeysuckle create a stunning, concentrated nose in this organic white blend. The palate is immediately soft and luscious, with flavors of peach yogurt, mango, and pear puree. The gentle finish lingers with sweet spices of vanilla, cloves, and cinnamon. Unforgettable wine!

AOP Saint-Chinian Roquebrun
Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Grenache Noir
The generous nose on this organic red delights with strawberry, cassis and lovely hints of oak. The luxurious mouthfeel is soft, rich and fruity, evolving into grippy tannins. The finale can only be described as GRAND with a second wave of fruit, firm tannins and a smoky aftertaste touched with chocolate.

IGP Pays de Caux
80% Cabernet Franc, 20% Syrah
Remarkable aromas of black cherry and blackberry harmonize with hints of mocha and caramel in this organic blend of Cabernet Franc and Syrah. Lovely, sensual tannins impart pleasing complexity. Winner of the Gold Medal Vignerons Indépendent 2017, Silver Medal Vignerons Indépendent 2016, and Silver Medal Decanter 2015.

50% Grenache, 45% Syrah 5% Cabernet Sauvignon
Fine bubbles and refreshing acidity make this pale peach sparkler the perfect aperitif throughout the year. Fresh peach skins infuse both the nose and the palate. This certified organic beauty is made with Grenache, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon by winegrowers who celebrate and nurture the biodiversity of the surrounding hedgerows, woodland and garrigue.
