Vineyard Notes
Château Borde Rouge is 100% organic as certified by the "AB" organic labels. No pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides or chemical fertilizers are used. The domaine also produces organic olive oil. They have 37 acres of vines in the Corbieres Mountains. The Syrah and Grenache vines are more than 70 years old.
Production Notes
Grapes undergo a long period of maceration. Aging takes place for 18 to 24 months in 225 liter French barrels.
This boutique domaine produces only 2,000 bottles a year.
Winemaker Notes
The historic Château Borde-Rouge is managed by Claudine Ladouce. She is assisted in the wine making by the highly respected oenologue Christian Lacassy.
