All of the wines we carry at Princess and Bear have small case productions and as each vintage varies from year to year, we want to offer tasting notes and technical information on past vintages we've carried for reference.

These wines are made by the most passionate winemakers and have a finesse and complexity that will keep you coming back for more. Many of the winemakers are contrarian and make wines in their own passionate way regardless of tradition or requirements to be an AOC wine.
Our many organic selections are presented below with the European Union organic leaf designation. Organic wines in the EU can use small amounts of organic sulphur, which helps make the wines remain stable over time.

Food pairing: This is a food rosé for year round drinking. Try it with shrimp ceviche; fish tacos with harissa aïoli (mayonnaise) and Gulf Coast red snapper on the half shell.

50% Cabernet Franc, 30% Merlot, 20% Malbec
Food Pairings: Enjoy on its own or serve with Parmesan Crusted Chicken and Cesear Salad or Shrimp, Grapefruit and Avacado Salad with Poppyseed Dressing. The Marquis will win your heart! Again and again.

Food Pairings: Delight in this unusual blend with Oysters Rockefeller or Cheese Gougères. Close your eyes, taste and you will be transported to the land of the Cathar castles of the Languedoc which overlook some of Katie's magical vineyards.

AOC Languedoc
85% Mourvèdre, 15% Grenache
Food Pairings: Really, really delicious! The mourvedre grape gives this wine such a wonderful flavor, only exceeded in loveliness by the young winemaker, our neighbor, Marine. Serve this with roasted turkey sandwiches, curried mayonnaise, and slices of vine-ripened tomatoes. Life is good!

70% Grenache, 30% Syrah
Food Pairings: It is great on its own for sipping or with Thai dishes or a summer sausage and chicken barbeque.

AOP Languedoc Montpeyroux
50% Syrah, 30% Carignan (60 year old vines), 25% Grenache, 15% Cinsault
Food pairing: Surround yourself with the soft richness of this beautiful organic wine served with Moroccan Lamb Cammama with Date and Onion Sambal; or Barbara Batcheller’s West Indian Roast Pork with Honey Glazed Parsnips and Yams. A perfect evening...bluer than velvet was the night....softer than satin was the light.
