Vineyard Notes
These Grenache and Syrah vines are cultivated in deep, fertile soils on sun-warmed alluvial plains and hillsides. The ripened grapes are harvested by hand.
Production Notes
After a brief period of aging in stainless steel tanks, the hand-harvested grapes are pressed, fully intact, at low pressure.
Winemaker Notes
Family-run Domaine Des Schistes was founded in the early days of the winemaking renaissance in the Languedoc-Roussillon. In 1989, the grandparents and parents of the current winemakers broke away from their cooperative winery to start their own adventure. Since then, Domaine Des Schistes has been creating delicious wines from grapes grown and harvested in their own vineyards. Their bold move to independence benefited wine lovers and helped usher in a new era of winemaking!
