This zesty wine has intense aromas of ripe tropical fruit and spice. The palate is filled with citrus, passionfruit and hazelnut with lingering notes of creaminess. The Viognier contributes pleasant white pepper and apricot aromas, while the Ugni blanc gives floral notes and the Roussanne its usual lemony/pineapple zip.

Pair with steamed artichokes, light seafood or tempura vegetables and green olive tapenade. .

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
The rugged Cevennes mountains overlook these vineyards, sending cool winds during the summer and slowing the maturation of the grapes. The longer the grapes hang on the vine the more this increases flavor and complexity. The soil is calcareous (chalky), stony clay. The Viognier parcel is at higher elevations with greater sun exposure during the day and cooler temperatures at night. The Vermentino parcel sits on a cooler northwest-facing slope with less sun, allowing the grapes to retain their freshness and typicity.
Production Notes
Proactive management of the vines minimizes the number of interventions needed, and careful sampling before harvest means the grapes are picked at the height of their freshness and flavor. The growing season was hot and dry, but with the deep clay soils, the vines made it through to harvest nicely. The varieties were fermented separately with specifically chosen yeasts to enhance their varietal characteristics. The wines were kept between 14 and 18 degrees C through fermentation and left at that cool temperature on lees for 8 weeks after. At this point, when the wines had settled down and were expressing themselves well, Kirsten assembled the final blend. Only minimal filtration was used prior to bottling to preserve the wine's character.
Winemaker Notes
Terre des 2 Sources began with two couples who shared a dream — to find the best land and wine-growing environment and to craft exceptional wines. The foursome realized their dream with an estate on high elevation just south of the Cevennes mountains with a rich diversity of soils, slopes, aquatic features and climate. Kirsten Creasy is the winemaker, and her husband Glen manages the vineyards. Kirsten has a long and successful career making wines in different places throughout the world. She is native to New Zealand and has made wines there as well as in Australia and France. She is part of the Languedoc renaissance making her own wine in this special terroir.
Food Pairing Notes
Pair this bright wine with steamed artichokes, light seafood or tempura vegetables and green olive tapenade.
