This rare blend produced a shimmering wine with beautiful silver reflections. The nose opens freshly with exotic yellow fruits, mango, nectarine and apricot sprinkled with white almond blossoms. A round, refreshing mineral palate with a hint of bitter orange delivers a very fresh and drinkable pleasure!

Serve as an aperitif at any time, or with grilled fish and a plate of cheeses.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
La Croix Gratiot has 34 hectares situated between Bassin de Thau and hills of pines in the village of Montagnac. The estate produces AOC Languedoc Picpoul de Pinet and IGP Pays d’Oc. The vines planted on a loamy-limestone soil profit from the marine trade winds and the scents of the scrubland. This microclimate allows the grapes to reach an optimal maturity and to fully express the typicity of the grapes variety during the different processes of winemaking. Committed to maintaining biodiversity, they plant multi species hedges on the edge of the plots and on the banks of the stream that winds through the estate. They also plant at every 8th row, a row of aromatic plants. Bat nest boxes are placed in the vineyards to facilitate the activity of pipistrelle, predators of Eudemis. Eudemis is a genus of moths. After the harvest, with the first rains, they plant grass in part of the vineyard to maintain activity in the soil.
Production Notes
The majority of the harvest is mechanical at night, for some cuvées it is manual. Each year new containers are purchased to allow rotation but also to carry out experiments. Albarino, Clairette and Ugni Blanc being grapes unknown to the estate, were gleaned from other winegrower friends. They were vinified separately so that each grape variety was revealed entirely in its own way and in respect of its particular character. They were assembled during the month of November.
Winemaker Notes
Yves and Hugues Ricome built their winery in 2004 on land their family has been farming for generations. In 2007, they passed on the winemaking torch to their daughter, Anais Ricome.
Food Pairing Notes
Serve as an aperitif at any time, or with grilled fish and a plate of cheeses.
