A rare rosé of the region made with very low yields, allowing an interesting complexity. Beautiful nose of red berries, cherries, cherry pit, baked apples, green almonds, long finish and lingering spices.  This is an honest, unadorned rosé for wine lovers.

Pairs well with anything spicy, Indian food or chicken dishes with ample spice.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
Terre Des Dames has been certified organic (Ecocert) for over ten years. The structure of the vineyard is unchanged from 200 years ago. The 25 small plots (totalling 14 hectares) are on different levels, surrounded by low walls and diverse garrigue. No pesticides or artificial fertilizers are used. Most of the year, natural grass growth between the rows supports the life of the soil. The microclimate of the area, along with the underground springs and rivers, imparts freshness to the vine roots. As well, the roots are nourished and protected by large barriers of trees and shrubs between the plots. Maintaining this biodiversity protects against disease. The soil is clay, limestone and flint and rich with marine fossils. Underground streams counter the arid environment, flowing beneath the estate and irrigating the vines.
Production Notes
Low yields , 25 hl/ha. Direct pressing, vinified in amphorae.
Winemaker Notes
Lidewij Van Wilgen left a high-powered career in advertising to pursue her dream of creating luscious, beautiful, organic wines. After visits to Bordeaux and the Northern Rhône, she became intrigued by what people were calling the “new world” of wine in France – the Languedoc. She found a beautiful farm house in a small valley with perfect terroir and Terre Des Dames was born. Since then, Lidewij has become one of the women leading the Languedoc wine making renaissance. Her wines have received awards from Decanter and Wine Spectator and glowing reviews from British wine maven Jancis Robinson.
Food Pairing Notes
Pairs wonderfully with anything spicy, Indian food, chicken dishes with ample spices.
