Fresh, bright, and minerally, with a chiseled backbone.  Juicy lemons, crisp pear, and a bouncy marshmallow texture bring the fun and sun to an exquisite wine with nice persistence in the mouth. A perfect ladies-who-lunch or everyone-brunch wine.

Delicious with lemon and garlic chicken; halibut with a lemon basil butter sauce; couscous tossed with garlic and roasted red bell peppers; and medium-hard, nutty cheeses (Gruyere, Swiss, Raclette).

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
14 ha of vineyards. Terre des Dames still has the same structure as 200 years ago: small plots on different levels, surrounded by ancient stone walls and wild garrigue. Here, no pesticides or synthetic fertilizers are applied. For most of the year, a cover of natural herbs favors an ecological balance in the soil. The oldest vine is 100 years old. All grapes are harvested and sorted by hand. The particular microclimate of this area, along with the underground springs and rivers, gives freshness to the vine roots, maintained by the significant barriers of trees and shrubs between the plots. Biodiversity also protects against disease.
Production Notes
An organic Grenache Blanc from high-altitude vineyards, with yields of 32 hl/ha. The fruit was hand-harvested with a second selection by Lidewij before entering the winery, ensuring only the highest quality fruit made it into the wine. Fermented and aged in stainless steel; bottled unfined, unfiltered, with minimal added SO2. Lidewej lost most of her crop to hail in 2020, so she purchased grapes from friends who are also certified organic (hence the cuvee name this vintage, "Ami des Dames" -- friends of the ladies).
Winemaker Notes
Lidewij Van Wilgen left a high-powered career in advertising to pursue her dream of creating luscious, beautiful, organic wines. After visits to Bordeaux and the Northern Rhône, she became intrigued by what people were calling the “new world” of wine in France – the Languedoc. She found a beautiful farmhouse in a small valley with perfect terroir, and Terre Des Dames was born. Since then, Lidewij has become one of the women leading the Languedoc wine-making renaissance. Her wines have received awards from Decanter and Wine Spectator and glowing reviews from British wine maven Jancis Robinson.
