This elegant, fruity blend of Grenache Noir, Syrah and Cinsault is gentle and smooth in the mouth. Hints of blackberry and blueberry mingle with spicy notes of clove and bay leaf. A welcoming red, Cuvée Magali reflects the rich history of the Milhau Lacugue estate which was the site of a Roman villa and later offered rest and refreshment to medieval pilgrims en route to sacred sites in Spain.

Enjoy Cuvée Magali with an upscale meal of grilled flat iron steak and rosemary-peppercorn butter, or more laid back fare like pepperoni pizza and charbroiled burgers with pesto mayo and sundried tomato relish.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
These Grenache Noir, Syrah and Cinsault grapes ripen on high, sun-warmed slopes and are influenced by the wonderfully complex geology of hard limestone and red clay soils.
Production Notes
Before maceration (or cuvaison), the grapes are destemmed, softening tannins and encouraging fruit character. During maceration, the wine is in contact with grape skins, pips and stalks, a process that extracts colour, flavour and tannin. The wine then matures in tanks and large oak barrels for 18 months prior to bottling.
Winemaker Notes
The Milhau Lacugue estate has been a fascinating cultural crossroads for millenia. Once an ancient Roman estate, Villa Emilio, the property is situated on an ancient trading and travelling route which included the Hospitaliers of St. John of Jerusalem (owners of the estate from the 12th to 18th century) as well as the Commanderie de Campagnoles. Eventually acquired by the Milhau family, the estate welcomed and offered sustenance to medieval pilgrims travelling to Compostela.
Food Pairing Notes

Other Notes
Ageability: Drink now or kep through 2026 Fun Fact: Cuvée Magali takes its name from Magdalene, perhaps Mary Magdalene, who is believed to have traveled to the Languedoc after fleeing Egypt.
