Bright acidity balances the citrus, fennel, and pineapple flavors in this blend of Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, and Roussanne. The delightful mouthfeel resolves into a pleasing minerality and long finish. The domaine nurtures biodiversity in and around the organic vineyards, leaving the surrounding hedgerows, woodland and garrigue largely untouched.

A fabulous pairing with grilled fish in lemon-caper butter or with aged goat’s cheese and crackers.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
Domaine De Saumarez celebrates and nurtures biodiversity in and around the organic vineyards, leaving the surrounding hedgerows, woodland and garrigue mostly untouched. Organic farming is practiced and natural flora flourishes in the vine rows. The vineyards thrive on rocky slopes in soils of calcite, iron oxide and Jurassic limestone.
Production Notes
The grapes are hand harvested in the early morning to preserve freshness. 60% of the juice is vinified in concrete vats with pumping over to increase the sensation of freshness in the wine. 40% is vinified and aged in oak barrels of various sizes with regular stirring of the lees to increase the sensation of minerality and fat in the mouth.
Winemaker Notes
Domaine de Saumarez was founded in 2004 by husband and wife Liz and Robin Williamson who are from New Zealand and England respectively. In the spirit of liberté d’expression, they belong to “The Outsiders,” a community of like-minded producers who celebrate the Languedoc’s diverse soil, grape varieties, climate, and the freedom to make unique, non-traditional wines.
Food Pairing Notes
A fabulous pairing with grilled fish in lemon-caper butter or with aged goat’s cheese and crackers.
