Remarkable aromas of black cherry and blackberry harmonize with hints of mocha and caramel in this organic blend of Cabernet Franc and Syrah. Lovely, sensual tannins impart pleasing complexity. Winner of the Gold Medal Vignerons Indépendent 2017, Silver Medal Vignerons Indépendent 2016, and Silver Medal Decanter 2015.

The tannins of Mouton Bertoli beautifully complement rich foods such as Porcini Mushroom Risotto or Pork Tenderloin Stuffed With Dried Cherries and a balsamic vinegar glaze.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
The vineyards are cultivated in soils of basalt, clay, and limestone.
Production Notes
Fermentation takes place in small, temperature-controlled concrete vats with gentle pumping of the cap. The juice ages in barriques (60 gallon barrels) and demi-muids (158 gallons barrels) for 12 months.
Winemaker Notes
Christine Mouton Bertoli and her husband, Stéphane, have built a first-class winemaking facility to support their mission to make quality, fine wines. We declare “mission accomplished!” The vineyards and winemaking cave are near the famous antique market town of Pézenas. The domaine includes 37 acres of organically farmed grapes and olive trees.
Food Pairing Notes
The tannins of Mouton Bertoli beautifully complement rich foods such as Porcini Mushroom Risotto or Pork Tenderloin Stuffed With Dried Cherries and a balsamic vinegar glaze.
Other Notes
Ageability: Drink now or keep until 2024.

Absolutely my favorite wine I’ve had in the last year or so. I’m hoping to see it again! Very drinkable, perfect spice, and just great.
