This vibrant wine charms with aromas of lychee, gooseberry and mint.  It’s crisp tartness wakes up the mouth, yet the feel is smooth and refreshing. La Lionne Blanc celebrates the essential nature of Sauvignon Blanc grapes bathed in Mediterranean sunshine.  The vineyards are Terra Vitis certified and the wine made by award-winning winemaker Diane Losfelt.

Though perfectly at ease on its own, La Lionne loves to accompany food. Pair with roast chicken, grilled fish and shellfish. For a cozy winter treat, serve with pork chops and grilled apples. For optimal enjoyment, serve well-chilled (about 50°F).

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
Chateau de l'Engarran is certified Terra Vitis. This means the winery practices responsible, sustainable farming while respecting both the earth and the people who live and work nearby. The terroir is pebble soil, classic for the Saint Georges d'Orque terroir near Montpellier.
Production Notes
The grapes are harvested at peak ripeness in the early morning to retain the fruit characteristics. Light maceration follows, then application of a pneumatic press. Fermentation takes place at 60°F after a clean racking of the must. Before bottling, the wine is lightly fined and subjected to a cold stabilization process which keeps it bright, limpid, and sediment free.
Winemaker Notes
Diane Losfelt is the owner of and has been the winemaker at Chateau de l'Engarran for more than 30 years. Her guiding principles for creating her wines are authentic terroirs, elegance and, above all, personality. Her wines embody strong character and high style — like the winemaker herself! The winery operates in a 17th century chateau with a romantic, formal French garden surrounded by 60 hectares of vineyards. Diane produces red, rosé and white wines, AOP Languedoc, AOP Grés de Montpellier, AOP Saint Georges d’Orques and Pays d’Oc.
Food Pairing Notes
Though perfectly at ease on its own, La Lionne loves to accompany food. Pair with roast chicken, grilled fish and shellfish. For a cosy winter treat, serve with pork chops and grilled apples. For optimal enjoyment, serve well-chilled (about 50°F).
