“La Coume Lumet” is an Occitan phrase meaning “Valley of Light,” a fitting descriptor for this dazzling, Chardonnay-dominant blend kissed by the crispness of Chenin blanc. Aromas of pear and roasted almond caress the nose. The rich mouthfeel melts into a finish of buttery, toasted notes. The vineyards are maintained using sustainable, responsible viticulture and Terra Vitis certified.

Serve with savory scallops with a beurre blanc sauce  and oven-baked golden potatoes.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
The vineyards are maintained using responsible viticulture and are Terra Vitis certified. “La Coume Lumet” is the Occitan language and means “Valley of Light,” a reference to the valley in which the vineyard is situated. 17 hectares of vines sit in the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains, between Carcassonne, a Cathar fortress town, and Limoux, the birthplace of sparkling wines. The valley forms a magical microclimate, with warm, sunny days and cool evenings lending natural acidity or “freshness” to the wine. The grapes thrive in clay and limestone soil. In recognition of the special terroir, this appellation allows both Continental grape varieties like Merlot and Mediterranean grape varieties like Grenache Noir and Syrah.
Production Notes
Aged for nine months in oak barrels, but you will not be blown away by oaky flavors.
Winemaker Notes
The members of the family that own this domaine are skilled in a variety of backgrounds: computer science, mathematics, psychology and most importantly oenology. This reservoir of knowledge was invaluable during the years the family spent studying and researching the region, and choosing the perfect vineyard. They formed La Coume Lumet in 2012.
Food Pairing Notes
Serve with savory scallops with a beurre blanc sauce and oven-baked golden potatoes.
Other Notes
Ageability: Drink now or keep until 2026.
