Fresh-cut herbs and fragrant floral aromas glide into bright tones of grapefruit and lemon in this summer-ready white wine. Made with Vermentino, a classic Mediterranean varietal, the “glug glug factor” of this wine makes it hard to resist, which is why it is one of our most loved wines.

This wine has its sea legs!  Savor with clams, oysters, mussels and seafood of all kinds, and also wonderful with goat cheese and a honey glaze.  Best served at 46-50⁰F.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
These Vermentino grapes ripen on high, sun-warmed slopes and are influenced by the wonderfully complex geology of ancient, hard limestone and red clay soils.
Production Notes
In accordance with traditional wine law in the IGP Coteaux de Fontcaude Appellation, wines made with a single varietal like Vermentino are designated a Vin de Pays.
Winemaker Notes
The Milhau Lacugue estate has been a fascinating cultural crossroads for millenia. Once an ancient Roman estate known as “Villa Emilio,” the property sits on an ancient trading and travelling route which carried pilgrims to the Commanderie de Campagnoles and the Hospitaliers of St. John of Jerusalem (owners of the estate from the 12th to 18th century). Home to a chateau with a view to the Mediterranean and numerous outbuildings the property offered sustenance to medieval pilgrims travelling to Compostela. Acquired in the mid-1900s by the Milhau family, Jean is the winemaker now who also tends the vines of the estate and sells the wines out of his family “cave”.
