This dry, flavorful rosé has fresh strawberry, peach and light citrus aromas that soften into notes of lilac and rose.  Silky and round in the mouth with a crisp, long finish that’s perfect for weekend sipping or as a year-long terrace wine. The vineyards are maintained using responsible viticulture and are Terra Vitis certified.

Château de l'Engarran will brighten shrimp pad thai and perk up deli platters. It’s also refreshing on its own as a beach or boating wine.

Wine Profile
Awards
Founder’s Note: We chose to carry this wine after discovering it at a rosé tasting in Montpellier. It won a gold medal the year after we chose it! It is a consistent crowd pleaser every year from another great female winemaker, Diane Losfelt.
Vineyard Notes
The terroir is geologically similar to that of Chateauneuf du Pape and hydrologically similar to Graves de Bordeaux. During the region’s heavy spring rains, water collects beneath the limestone and sandy loam soils and nourishes the young vines. Chateau de l'Engarran is certified Terra Vitis. This means the winery practices responsible, sustainable farming while respecting both the earth and the people who live and work nearby.
Production Notes
Grenache and Cinsault are harvested simultaneously then loaded into the vinification tank. During saignée, the individual grapes are crushed by the weight of the clusters. The resulting juice, along with the skins, remains in the tank for several hours. The tank is then “bled” (thus the term saignée) through a tap. The juice is chilled and yeast added, initiating a slow fermentation that converts the sugars into alcohol. The saignée method imparts a subtle, light color to the wine and lovely fruity aromas from the varietals.
Winemaker Notes
Diane Losfelt has been the winemaker at Chateau de l'Engarran for more than 30 years. Her guiding principles for creating her wines are authentic terroirs, elegance and, above all, personality. Her wines embody strong character and high style — like the winemaker herself! The winery operates in a 17th century chateau with a romantic, formal French garden surrounded by 60 hectares of vineyards.
Food Pairing Notes
Château de l'Engarran will brighten shrimp pad thai and perk up deli platters. Refreshing on its own as a beach or boating wine.
