Sommelier note: A true family domaine, the Bonnet clan is running this estate. The father Guilhem is third generation and was “born in the vineyard” you might say. The domaine is situated in the appellation Terrasses du Larzac, all the way north of Montpellier in the breathtaking village of Saint-Guillem-le-Desert. This award winning winery produces wines on 20 ha. of vines from local grapes like Syrah, Grenache Noir, Carignan and Mourvèdre for red, Grenache Blanc and Colombard for white.
This La Voute du Verdus Blanc is a blend of equal parts of Colombard and Grenache Blanc. The wine is deceptively pale in color, because it packs very expressive fruit in the nose (green apple, lime) and has a fresh and acidic attack but is round and full in character. Excellent wine for seafood, chicken, prawns and goat cheeses.
