Vineyard Notes
This hillside vineyard benefits from over 300 days of sunshine per year! The soil is chalky and mixed with clay.
Production Notes
The grapes are assessed for optimal maturity and then hand-harvested. The Syrah matures in old barrels, some built with French oak and others with American oak. The Grenache is aged in stainless steel tanks prior to the final blend to retain the flavor of the fruit.
Winemaker Notes
Over the past 60 years, Franck Leonor and his family have completely renovated La Rouviole, an old domaine in the prized appellation La Livinière. In a past life, Franck was an English teacher in Bordeaux. He loves to craft Bordeaux-style wines, but with the added benefit of the Mediterranean sun of the Languedoc.
