Katie Jones buys very small old vineyards, most of them comprised of interesting, rare grape varieties. She vinifies each parcel of hand-harvested grapes separately so she knows exactly what she has. She makes many wines, but they are all of very small quantities coming from a total estate of just 30 acres of vines.

This wine is very much alive and kicking with red berry fruits, spice, leather and pepper.

“I have very strict criteria when buying my vineyards. The vines have to be old (the older the better), they have to be on slopes, and they have to have a great view. Les Perles Carignan comes from 2 such vineyards: one in Paziols and one in Tuchan. The vines for this wine are over 100 years old and despite their age, give a great freshness and youth to the wine.” Katie Jones
